beautiful and light
built to last for generations

The tapered leg and beveled top give the Nicole series a distinct lightness. And rather than using a bulky skirt that wraps around the perimeter of the table-top the legs of the Nicole table come together in the centre. It’s a unique design element that gives this table a distinctive aesthetic. Made to last for generations, it’s crafted from solid hardwood and loose tenon joinery.

Available in a variety of wood types and sizes including occasional tables and dining table sizes too.

Little did she know, that first shop class in Jr. High would be the beginning of an entire career in furniture making and design.

It was as a pre-teen, in Junior High School that Kate Duncan was introduced to woodworking. Little did she know, that first shop class would be the beginning of an entire career in furniture making and design. Since her days in Jr. High, Duncan has dedicated the last twenty some years to honing her craft and developing her aesthetic and nowadays, Duncan produces bespoke heirloom-quality furniture out of her East Vancouver studio.

She crafts each and every piece by hand utilizing traditional joinery and manufacturing techniques. Flawless dovetails and delicate knife hinges done up in sustainably harvested solid North American hardwoods set her work apart. Her dedication to the craft is apparent in the quality and precision of each and every piece. Duncan’s work is clean and contemporary, heavily influenced by the architecture of the Brutalist movement, made popular in the 70’s and 80’s.

Not content to just focus on her own practice, Duncan also founded and spearheads a highly publicized and attended annual weeklong event in Vancouver, ADDRESS. ADDRESS is part-gallery, part-pop-up shop, and part tradeshow created for and informed by the designer/maker movement. Over the past 6 years, ADDRESS has evolved into an unprecedented platform to showcase the latest works from some of the North America’s most talented designers and makers. Through this and her brand, she is widely recognized by her peers in the design community as a leader in her field.
